Kevin Ozan, formerly Senior VP and Corporate Controller, succeeds Bensen as Executive Vice President and CFO. The executive transitions are part of a number of management changes that McDonald's announced early this year aimed at accelerating the company's movement to its next phase of innovation and growth. Starbucks Corp. has named Kevin Johnson President and Chief Operating Offcer of the company. Johnson, a former tech industry executive, has served on Starbucks' board since 2009. He replaces Troy Alstead, who held the COO role and announced a planned sabbatical beginning in March. Johnson was previously CEO of Juniper Networks, Inc., a networking products and services frm, and still remains on Juniper's board. Wienerschnitzel has named Doug Koegeboehn Chief Marketing Offcer replacing Tom Amberger, former Vice President of Marketing, who retired from the chain's parent company, Irvine-based Galardi Group Inc., in December following 20 years with the company. Koegeboehn was most recently a group account director at DGWB Advertising, the ad agency for Wienerschnitzel, and handled the account since 1995. As CMO at Wienerschnitzel, Koegeboehn will lead brand marketing, digital, menu and overall communications strategies, as well as overseeing the newly formed Visionary Department, intended to build brand loyalty among a younger demographic. Johnny Rockets has promoted James Walker to President of Operations and Development, reporting directly to company CEO John Fuller. In this newly created position, Walker will oversee the chain's development strategy, including construction, design and real estate, as well as domestic and international operations. He was formerly the company's Chief Development Offcer. Walker joined the Aliso Viejo-based chain in December 2013, six months after it was acquired by private-equity frm Sun Capital Partners, Inc. Prior to that, he was Chief Development Offcer at Beef 'O" Brady's. Property Services company CAM Services announced that its founder, Jim Swindle, retired effective January 15 th . David A. Herrera, president of CAM Services since 2003, will absorb Swindle's primary responsibilities. Herrera joined CAM in 1991 and has direct experience in every aspect of the company's operations, sales and management. ""Jim leaves with our very best wishes and our gratitude for his tireless commitment to our company, a leader in the property services industry," Herrera said. CAM Services also announced that Staci Burke has joined the company as Business Devel- opment Manager for Communities and HOAs. J.D. Dutra has joined its Fresno offce as the Business De- velopment Manag- er for the Central Valley. Dutra will work with CAM's division managers to expand and im- plement programs for new and existing clients. He was pre- viously a regional manager for NEST international. "J.D.'s extensive experience in facilities manage- ment, and his deep local knowledge of the Valley, will help us to further de- velop our rapidly growing presence in Central California," said Herrera. CONTRACTS & AWARDS Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza has signed a franchise agreement with Five Star Blaze Holdings Inc. to open at least 60 restaurants in Canada, marking the chain's frst foray into international operations. The Pasadena-based operator announced that Five Star Blaze Holdings will open units in the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Fatburger has announced a domestic development agreement in Southern California calling for development of 30 stores in San Diego, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. The franchise group is Landmark Foodmaster Inc. Fatburger also recently announced expansion of its presence in Northern California with the planned opening of two stores in San Jose and Brentwood, with 36 more in development. CURRENT EVENTS The Conejo Recreation and Park District board approved a fee structure for residential development on a section of Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks known as the downtown core. The board has set the fee at $9,533 per residential unit for development on the specifed portion of the boulevard, with the fee due to increase by 3 percent annually beginning in 2016. The developer fee, part of state law known as the Quimby Act, goes toward park improvements. The board set the fee after a City Council decision in 2011 to allow residential construction in a district once reserved for commercial use. Developers of residential projects outside this portion of the boulevard can opt to pay the set fee per unit, or pay the fee as calculated based on current land value. The fee will affect various residential projects planned for a 250-acre area that the city has approved.
